The Secret Warrior #3
~Released: September 30th 2016
~Publisher: Wild Rose Press, Inc.
Being the seventh Morcant has its perks: Morgan is learning to fly and wield magical blue fire.
But the coyote shifters are growing bolder. Mateo and his panthers seem impossible to defeat. And vampires aren't real – are they?
When the elusive and enigmatic Chief Okema disappears and the wards protecting the Wapicoli territory falter, Morgan and Jackson are forced into the role of leaders.
Badly outnumbered and outgunned, do they have time to search for the secret of the Divining Tree, and will it help them in the final battle?
Married to my high school sweetheart, I live on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia surrounded by my children, grandbabies, and assorted animals. An avid gardener, my love of herbs and heirloom plants figures into my work. The rich history of Virginia, the Native Americans and the people who journeyed here from far beyond her borders are at the heart of my inspiration. In addition to American settings, I also write historical and time travel romances set in the British Isles, and nonfiction about gardening, herbal lore, and country life.
The final installment of this series is by far the best, and ended well.
The build-up to the last chapter was intense, and I wasn't able to let out my pent-up breath til the last page. The entire book ended the story very well, and rounded the other two books out. I loved the increased humor, and was glad the action and feel from the first two books increased as well.
Morgan deepened into a character I truly came to enjoy following, and I was glad to see her grow up so much. Her relationship with Jackson was interesting throughout the trilogy, and it was good to see him grow as a character as well.
Through part of the book, I really wasn't sure which direction the author would take this story. It kept me guessing, and I didn't want to put it down until I'd finished the whole thing.
Dare I say, this is a series I will be reading again. I've found myself thinking about it randomly the past few months, and very much enjoyed the adventure over all.
I would recommend this series to others, but would definitely recommend reading the first two books in the series before enjoying this one.
*I was given a complimentary copy of this book, by IFB Tours, to read in exchange for an honest review.
