Fun Friday Quiz!
How Do the Books You Read Affect You?

We all like quizzes, yes?  Hopefully, cuz that's what we have for you today.  We enjoy taking quizzes and polls - kind of a fun way to waste time, every now and then :)

For our Friday, we'd like to start the weekend off with some of that doesn't-really-mean-anything kinda fun.  We found this cool quiz, which answers the question How Do the Books You Read Affect You?

For most of us bookish types, this should be fun ;)

We took this quiz as well, and this is what our result was:

The books you read do shape who you are today. You probably wouldn't be the same person you are today if you hadn't read the books you do. Remember that the next book you read could change you as a person.

Hmmm, interesting :)

What did you get?  How do you think the books you read affect you? Let us know in the comments below!

If you enjoyed this post, please share it.

Thanks for stopping by!

~Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy, Paranormal, Mystery, Adventure, Romance

After being raised from infancy in Boston, Mass., Noria (a.k.a Norah Lukens) has no idea what to expect upon entering New Cobbogoth, where she never would have guessed that paths of light can make you vanish; doors can lead to realms both near and far; myths and legends are actual history; a mere kiss can seal two souls as one; and, of course, a stone is never “just a stone.” Her Uncle Jack’s stories never could have prepared her for the magical and dangerous place her native realm is turning out to be.

When the Gihara’s promises begin to crumble, her best friend and soul-mate Jamus (a.k.a. James Riley) is in more danger than ever. Then when his father Lylend abandons her to search for an ancient relic called The Lemorian Crest and she is taken captive by the very people she’s risked everything to save, Noria begins to lose faith in the Cobbogothian gods and the mission they sent her home to accomplish.

Only when a series of new friendships and loyalties are forged in the most peculiar of places, does Noria dare hope again. Hope for Jamus’ safety, for their future together, and for the survival of the entire Cobbogothian race.

She almost succeeded, until an ill-advised outburst on her part put her right in the Scions' path. Just like that, one became her fake boyfriend, one her unwanted matchmaker, one her guardian angel, and the one she couldn't stand the most? Yeah, he's her new housemate.

I Just Want To Read!!

Hey peeps, Rose here.  How have you guys been?  Hopefully good.

I've been having a lot of fun posting more "fun" posts and doing quizzes with you guys.  I figured a good update post would may be interesting though, so here we go :)

This summer has been crazy for us so far, and it looks like things are just going to keep getting more hectic.  I'm starting up another business with Ken and his brother Ethan - one that appeals to another one of our hobbies.  It's a consultation and repair business, focusing on classic VW Aircooled cars!  How cool is that?  It's been quite a bit of fun so far.  We've named it Zen Beetles, got a few awesome clients, and can't wait to keep building that up.

 Excited Scarlet Jo

Past that, we are still working on our book businesses, doing editing and beta reading, as well as working on different tours and promotion projects.

Most of my extra time is either spent on one of my different business ventures, or writing.  I'm not able to write much, but when I can, it's so much fun!!

My reading time has dropped dramatically the past few months though, and it's so depressing!  This whole year, really, has been too busy to read much.

 Frustrated Stitch

All I want to do is read, dang it!!

 Frustrated Tina Fey 30 Rock

I know this happens to all us avid book lovers & readers.  How do you guys cope with not being able to read much?  I don't do much driving, so I can't listen to audio books, but do you guys like them?  What are you reading right now?  I'm hoping to finish up some awesome Summer reads before it starts cooling down :)

 Sarina, Sweetheart
~Published: March 5th 2015

~Length: 227 Pages

~Genres: New Adult, Science Fiction

Her name is Sarina Wocek. Her breath is poison. She was not born out of love.

Twenty-three years ago, government officials traced the budding epidemic of hemorrhagic fever HF186-2A in south Florida to the Wocek family and their adorable six-week-old daughter, Sarina. Her father, Gregory, admitted his role in genetically engineering a biological weapon with pride. She was taken to a lab hidden in a rural area of New Hampshire. She hasn’t left since.

Her government keepers could cure her, but they won’t. Genetically engineering a child to be a weapon of mass destruction, that’s unethical. Refining a weapon of mass destruction that someone else created? That’s just being clever.

After twenty-three years of captivity, she escapes. She crosses an ocean to put her father and the lab behind her, but it’s not enough. When she sees the first bleeding sore, she knows she didn’t leave the virus behind either.

The only way she’ll be free is by destroying every trace of the lab. She only has one advantage; she doesn’t care if she makes it out alive.

The Ties That Bind Us #1

~By: K.A. Coleman (Pen Name was Lucy Kelly)

~Published: March 10th, 2013

~Pages: 186

~Parent's Guide: PG-13

~Genres: Young Adult, Contemporary Romance, Realistic Fiction

Is there a way to describe the ties that bind us together? What happens when one of those ties is unexpectedly severed? Can everything else remain the same? Will the other ties hold strong?

Two years after her little brother's death, sixteen year old Emerson Caulfield returns to a home that she spent the last two years missing. In theory, everything should be the same. Her best friend, Matt, still lives next door. Her house is in the exact same condition as they left it. The scenery and hallways haven't changed, yet for Emerson, everything is completely different. The place may be the same, but Emerson is most certainly not. She returns home hurt, angry, and miles away from the girl she once was.

The 60,000 word novel alternates between the perspectives of Emerson, who is struggling to keep breathing on a daily basis, and Matt, who wants to have his old best friend back so badly that he is willing to overlook the fact that she has completely changed. Though their friendship and relationship is a major part of the story, it takes backseat to the unique bonds between siblings, what happens when your worst enemy is in fact yourself, and the hardships that come with growing up and changing.
