Miranda Vaughn was once falsely accused of stealing millions, and now she’s helping others who are facing criminal charges. But what should be a straightforward assignment is deliciously complicated when Miranda is thrown together with FBI Agent Jake Barnes, the man who saved her life, broke her heart, and then disappeared.

Beneath the neatly plotted rows of new homes lurk dark secrets, bitter feuds and a whole lot of greed. Nothing is what it appears, even Miranda’s timid client, who is hiding secrets of her own. Despite her growing distrust of her client, Miranda must protect Kathryn from becoming the target of the FBI’s investigation and protect herself from the real thief—all while protecting her heart from the sexy FBI agent she can’t seem to resist.

Jake Boxer, investigative journalist and host of the conspiratorial news show Bullseye, is in serious trouble. Not only is his soundman murdered by Russian intelligence agents while reporting on a secretive New World Order, but his network cancels his show, leaving Jake humiliated and spiraling into a deep dark depression.

Years later, a condemned murderer, who claims he was abandoned by the CIA, and who starred in an early episode of Bullseye, is finally executed for killing two supposed Soviet spies back in the 1970’s.

Jake Boxer, still trying to piece his life back together, is on his honeymoon in a posh ski resort in the Alaskan mountains when he gets word of the inmate’s execution . . . and the old killer’s final words: “The good spy dies twice.”

Those five words, seemingly meant for Jake, draw the ex-reporter from his forced retirement and into a complex and deadly global conspiracy involving his newlywed wife, the secretive New World Order, and the hotel’s hundred or so “guests.”

Everyone is a suspect.

Described as James Bond in a Stephen King novel, The Good Spy Dies Twice is the explosive first book in the Bullseye Series. Part spy thriller, part whodunit, this fast-paced novel introduces an exciting new hero, the intrepid, conspiratorial journalist, Jake Boxer.

Musical eBook! "Misfortunes of T-Funk" by Barnaby Hazen!

 Book Tour!

MISFORTUNES OF T-FUNK A FUNNY, HONEST LOOK INTO THE LIFE OF MUSICIANS
Author Barnaby Hazen highlights contemporary fiction with musical tracks embedded directly into the pages of his novel!

TAOS, N.M. -- April 2017  -- Misfortunes of T-Funk (Apr. 1, 2017) follows two musicians who refuse to quit. The contemporary fiction release from Barnaby Hazen also embeds his own musical tracks directly into the chapters of the novel to further immerse readers into the story.

Trying desperately to find an audience for their hard-edged “grunge” music, Theo and Judah are childhood friends who enroll in an unusual college called The University of Jazz and Music Technology. Attracted at first by the means within the school to professionally record their own original music, the two friends eagerly embark on what could be a lifelong journey - but the endeavor has an alternate effect.

It’s something the author knows all too well, as Hazen pulls directly from his personal experience in music. “I must admit,” said Hazen, “I’m having a lot more fun putting fictional characters through such hardship than I had on my own.”

The author’s decision to incorporate his original music into the chapters of Misfortunes of T-Funk is an excellent compliment to the story. Each of the four recordings are placed at significant moments in Theo and Judah’s story sometimes in direct relation, other times as an ironic side trail, but always intentionally to enhance the reader’s journey through the book.

Hazen’s storytelling style is influenced by Henry Miller, as well as Russian authors Fyodor Dostoevsky and Vladimir Nabokov - in particular, Nabokov’s Invitation to a Beheading. “It’s fearlessly, unapologetically ‘outside’ as we say in jazz,” said Hazen. “But the alienation, absurdism and disassociation rang a chord when I read it that triggered something in me -  a realization about there being no rules when you have a voice and something to say.”

Hazen is an author, editor and musician, and regularly contributes to the education-based journal The Bud Hawthorne Revue. In 2015, he debuted a full-length collection of nine-strange tales on convenience store fiction in Seven Eleven Forgotten and Other Stories

Still Black Remains is an original work of fiction.  It tells the story of Twist, one of the leaders of an inner city gang named the Skulls, and the architect of his gang’s decision to kidnap a mafia soldier in a last-ditch attempt to end a violent turf war.  The war started when the Skulls tried taking a bigger piece of the drug business in their Newark, New Jersey neighborhood from the organized crime family who had once been their partners.  Like most great ideas, the plan doesn’t turn out as expected. Negotiations between the gangs deteriorate, words fail, the violence escalates, and the only recourse left is the inevitable execution of the hostage.  Chosen to be the one to execute the prisoner, the story covers Twist’s ability to pull the trigger, the consequences of that action, and his internal struggle.  As the volatile situation grows more explosive by the hour, the lines between right and wrong blur; resolution comes with a price and Twist has to decide if pulling the trigger will get him what he wants, and if he can live with that cost.

"The Chosen One" by Rafael Shamay *Review*

Hiya guys! I've got a new review for you this week!

I'm a bit bummed this wasn't better, but honestly, it wasn't because of the idea. The plot concept was awesome! The topic is right up my alley, and a subject I love studying!

Formatting and editing can be a major pain though, especially if English isn't your dominant language.

You can check out my review for this book under the general info, and see what you think.

 The Chosen One

Allow me to introduce you a new gripping historical thriller: The Chosen One. And in March 2017 can't come fast enough until I'll finish my second book.

What would you do if you found out that you're involved in one of the most exciting events in the history of mankind against your will?

The tragedy that happened to Erez on a routine trip in the Judean desert when he lost his best friend in floods and almost found his death, changed his life forever. Since he met Yonit, a mysterious girl who was a volunteer at the Hospital which was hospitalized, found himself involved reluctantly in one of the big exciting events that impacted on our cultural world.

An ancient scroll that was hidden for centuries in a jug in a cave in the Judean desert, exposed accidently and threatening to awaken a dark desires and hidden power struggles in order to prevent information disclosure which about to change forever their lives of many people in the future. Only one person can help against all oods. Will he succeed?

Present and past meet in a rare moment where the scrolls told us a story about the inhabitants of Qumran, an isolated community near the Dead Sea that tries to maintain their unique style and their existence, in the changing environment. Where violence is increasing, corruption raising its head, and ethics pushed to a corner, and eventually caused the destruction of the community at the end of the Second Temple period, during the Great Revolt.

The book focuses on the personal story of a special family, from descendants of the giants who lived in the community and managed to survive to this day, despite the difficult moments of crisis and despair that happened them throughout the generations and of the need to maintain on the ember.

Human Angels are a fascinating series of books written by author Rafael Shamay.

Sweeping storyline and full of vicissitudes and adventure, reading experience of a remarkable suspense literature which been taken from the cultural treasures which shared to all of us.

The book is sophisticated and breathless thriller that received excellent criticism from critics literary and readers, and was written about in the newspapers.
"I would highly recommend this book for anyone who likes fascinating book. I'll be eagerly waiting for the next book", Dan Bradley.

It would be great if you could read this book and share it with your friends and family!

Her hopes are tainted once she begins to have to resist the advances of a determined football star, on top of dealing with family drama which seems to have followed her. Alexandra’s need to fix everyone’s problems not only rubs her roommates the wrong way, it also causes her to fall blind to the problems brewing with the boyfriend that she left behind. Eventually she’ll be forced to face the issues head on. Emily’s refusal to come out of her shell is too much to handle for party girl Malajia, whose main purpose is to have fun and be seen. The same doesn’t apply to Sidra, who’s more concerned with trying to keep her over-the-top stress level under control.

These five young women try to handle family drama, pressure, and conflicts; all while trying to maintain their grades. They quickly learn that college life isn’t what they expected and must adapt to their new environment if they ever hope to make it through their first semester.
