Jack Finnegan only has to worry about dealing with school bullies, suffering through detention with his homeroom teacher, and getting noticed by the girl of his dreams... at least until an army of evil aliens invade Earth. Suddenly, this teenage slacker finds himself at the center of a galaxy-spanning conflict - where the lives of everyone on the planet are in jeopardy, soldiers use Quantum Physics to become superheroes, and the enemy uses some mysterious form of magic to make themselves practically unstoppable.

The secret to ending the conflict and saving the universe may lie in a powerful ancient spaceship, which it seems can only be flown by Earthmen. Now, Jack and a rag-tag group of allies must overcome impossible odds, defeat an unkillable enemy, rescue the princess of the galaxy, and save the universe from a threat more terrifying than any it has ever faced.

Can this underachiever rise to the occasion and become the hero Earth needs? The fate of all life in the galaxy may rest in his hands.

Matthew Kadish is an independent author and world-recognized evil genius. When he isn't writing or being evil, he enjoys relaxing at the beach and videos of puppies. Much like Scottish cuisine, most of his literary works have been based on dares. He currently lives in Las Vegas and always bets on black, because Westley Snipes has yet to steer him wrong in life. He is the most talented author ever. His mother tells him so every day.

*Reviewed by Ken Wallin. Desert Rose Reviews was given an eCopy of this book, from the author, to read in exchange for an honest review.

At the first thought of reading this book, I decided to keep an open mind, but was still expecting a repeat of nerdy attempts of space-excitement, by so many other authors. I couldn't have been more broadsided by this book's pure awesomeness!!

The main characters are deep and original. The plot is unpredictable, and the twists will have you rebooting your brain, before you can keep reading. The story is loveable, and somehow believable.

This book sucked me in, from the very beginning, with satire, raw wit, and a relatable story opening. I felt myself rooting for Jack, wanting him to take a shot, to get what he always wanted, and feeling his pain, as all he's ever known is ripped from him, and lost for eternity... or is it?

On a mechanical level,  Matthew Kadish's prose are excellent, his vocabulary is accessible, believable, witty, and functional, and the flow of this book, is like drag racing on the Autobahn.

The Earthman Jack series is one that is top-shelf, in my collection, and I am very much looking for the the sequels.

If you are looking for a space-action book, with a hint of romance, villainous villains, heroic deeds, cliff-hanging suspense, plot twists, a herd of wacky side characters, and deep philosophical roots- this is the book for you.

This book will have you laughing, crying, gripping your couch cushions in suspense, and reaching for your LED blaster gun to defend yourself.

I give Earthman Jack vs. The Ghost Planet, an honest and heartfelt five-stars, and two thumbs-up. I really hope Hollywood picks this story up, and turns it into a movie, 'cause it would be great on a flat-screen!
